After last week’s obscure (&hardly famous) Monday’s Muse- sorry Lo-Lo- I thought I would shoot straight with this one. She’s Hollywood gorgeous, in movies with Will Smith, the face of a major brand and a prevalent people.com presence. Ok, that could be a lot gals, but this week’s style stimulator is none other than Ms. Eva Mendes.

Though her lack of quality movie career can be quite irksome, she’s Oscar-worthy when it comes to fashion. She does ladylike like no one else, evoking a time when even a movie’s stars small errands warranted Highheels and Highglamour. And more than her simple ode to Old Hollywood is her command of the look, which she pulls off in a totally non-costumey way (Xtina “Rita Halfworth” Aguilera, I’m talking to you!)

Fulfilling her role as the face of minimalist mecca Calvin Klein, Eva relies on solid colors and simple shapes to showcase off her va-va-voom body. She looks just as sexy in a one-tone column gown as other celebs look in fashion frills and bells. Her Golden Globes ensemble of the white Dior gown and chunky turquoise necklace haunted me for weeks with its clean crisp perfection. She was a breath of fresh air among gobs of boring black. And like a true glamour girl, Eva’s honey-hued hair stays styled to perfection, while her make-up is always flawless.
