Leather&Lace Me Up

Though lace is coming full frontal for Fall 2009, I’ve had a secret obsession with the fabric for a while now. Ok, so maybe “secret” isn’t quite accurate. I do have a few lace tanks, a lace dress, lace tees&cardis…hell, I even have a lace-print raincoat.

So, I suppose I may just like like lace. But this season I’m looking to shake things up a bit. Add something less sweet and a little more rough&tumble. Yep, you guessed it- leath-er! I dabbled a little bit with the pairing last winter, but now I’m ready to jump in all the way. And what are my secret chic weapons? Feast your eyes on this HighEnd line-up!

  1. Topshop’s Lace Leather Bodycon Dress is the perfect combination of Fall’s most sought-after fabrics. I would go nutssss to pair this with my haute pink pumps! D-I-E!
  2. Love the cheekiness of these Shopbop Custom Denim lace print jeans.
  3. There is something so “Erin Wasson” cool about Maje’s lace t-shirt. Perhaps it’s the sexy material update on the classic pocket-tee shape.
  4. This Rojas black tube skirt is possibly my favorite skirt of the fall with its fitted silhouette and faux-leather panel. Add 3+4 for some may-jah chicness!
  5. KennaT’s Lace Blazer is the perfect way to femme up tough leather pieces. This is also a great alternative to a traditional wool blazer.
  6. Nothing is sexier than the small panel of lace on Victoria’s Secret’s Tie-Waist lace tank…well, other than the leather pants that the adorable Jourdan Dunn is rocking with it! Somebody got the memo ;)
  7. I love the loose fit of these Geren Ford pleated leather pants because instead of being ’01 skintight, they are ’09 baggy-chic. Blackout the look with statement shoes in black and fingerless lace gloves!
  8. I’ve seen these ridiculously gorgeous 3.1 Philip Lim leather and lace gloves everywhere from Monica Rose’s blog to magazines! And I fall in deeper fashion love each time. Sigh…one day you’ll be mine!
  9. This ensemble courtesy of Free People epitomizes the look I’m going for- edgy with the leather, girly with the lace, but funky-chic all the way!

Ok, chicsters, let’s get to mixing for the fall!
