Skiin’ in the Pyrenees by way of My Private Jet

Double-Dip

Remember the days when you were a totally fearless make-up maven. Granted you were about eight years old, and painting each finger (and toe) nail a different color of the rainbow, but Mimi’s main message is about experimentation. Back in the day, you weren’t afraid to go bold with the lips, eyes and cheeks- brick-red rouge, frosted pink lipstick and blue eyeshadow, of course! (I was more of a red lipstick tot, so I would sneak into my mom’s make-up in the middle of the night and smear Cherries in the Snow allllll over my tiny mischievous face. Naughty naughty Mimi ;)) How about piling polish on top of polish until your nails shined in four-color glory. Hairstyles involved braids, crimps and baubles upon baubles…all in one day.

Well, I got back into my grade-school groove for my New Year’s Eve mani. There I was sifting through the standard cold-weather color options- scarlett with sparkle, matte maroon, bold bordeaux- when I discovered my perfect polish. It was so wondrous that it couldn’t be contained in just one bottle.

What is this magical shade you ask?

OPI’s Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees with a top coat of My Private Jet. Suzi’s gunmetal hue is all RockabillyChic, while Private Jet’s sparkle factor announces to the world, “I will be all glam in 2010. I dare you to stop me!” My friends were so jealous upon witnessing my double-color dance, a couple of them were trying to layer on another polish at any cost…or color.

So, whether you’re hittin’ Lincoln Park After Dark in some Shim-merry Chic or leavin’ out Vodka&Caviar for Dear(est) Santa, follow Mimi’s make-up mantra and mx it up, HighEnders!
