This may sound insane, but I ♥ cold weather. Well, its less about the icy temps and more about the lovely layers that come with thirty and below. I live to put on a cozy knit dress AND an oversized cardi AND a sexy fur vest AND a funky scarf AND cheeky knee socks AND luxurious boots…ok, I think you get it. But despite all that, I experienced a major summer moment today. Yep, 30° and all.

Despite H&M’s recent…ummmm, controversies (give charity a try in ’10, huh?), I can not deny the crazy chicness of their new Garden Collection. Florals abound, ruffles delight and rosettes reign supreme. The line is very reminiscent of the feminine fab of Shoshanna or Nanette Lepore, but at a much lower price point.  And did I mention that the Swedes used only organic and recycled materials? Yep, a little slice of sartorial heaven!

And here’s what they had to say:

Romantic, exotic, glamorous or abstract: this spring’s floral patterns provide an injection of creativity and a love of fashion into your wardrobe. The floral looks are inspired by chlorophyll-green gardens, sundrenched landscapes and even 70s hippie chic flower-power. The romantic garden collection is made using organic and recycled materials. All the garments have been produced using sustainable materials or using recycled PET bottles or textile waste.

Now for a little taste of summer.

Just a warning: I will fight to the bloody death for that ruby-red rosette jacket. And as for that wide-sleeve floral tunic? Don’t even try me! I am obsessed with this collection, and can.not. wait to infuse a little summer sunshine into my life.

Check out the official lookbook here. HighEnders, what’s your favorite piece?

  1. Ummmm excuse me, I guess there will be a battle to the death b/c that jacket is miiiiiinesssss! And I’ll take that cream dress with what looks like rosette(?) shoulders. While we’re at it, go ahead and add that last art piece looking dress to the order as well. Many thanks!
