so here’s the thing, i am always incredibly ahead of the trend curve. i’m not saying this to be all fashionnnnny and annoying. it just so happens that i become obsessed with ideas that within 18-36 months turn out to be the next big thing.
check out that leadtime, baby.
- forever 21- july 1998 (trip to the west coast changed my shopping life)
- monochromatic- sept 2008
- peplum- dece 2009
- warby parker- nov 2010
- leather- birth
- mules- aug 2011

{clockwise- Gianvito Rossi, A. Wang, Victoria Secret, Givenchy, A. Wang, Jenni Kayne}
but here’s the other thing. i love shit to pieces but wait so long to act on it that i end up just another sheep. bahhhhhhhh. it took me THREE years to actually order a pair of warby parkers, and now they are like the tomigachi of eyeglasses- errrrrrrybody has some.
so i am being proactive on this mules shit and just getting a pair. but here’s the other other thing. they are still pre-peak, so the ones i want are still lingering in designer world, just waiting to be knocked off by zara, h/m, etc.
therefore take this post as a declaration that though i am always late on the trends that i adore, i see them out there. i just don’t put them on.
