if you live in/near nyc or have ever been in the tri-state area between june-aug, you know that the summer smells of gotham are otherworldly. the winter is no smelly slouch, but good GOD the summer is a whole other level. takes a city like new york to outdo itself.

well as much as i love the topic of eau de manhattan, why don’t we switch to a more pleasant topic…like mimi’s summer scents. a change of season is the perfect opportunity to switch up your beauty routine. i go from winter (sometimes) straight hair, heady perfume and no make-up to summer curls, breezy scents and…no make-up.

my summer smell line-up

• l’occitane’s rose– holy noses! this scent from french bath brand is the definition of beautiful- light, feminine and intoxicating. i have the bodywash and the perfume so the layering affect is almost too hot to handle. this one will be coming into fall with a shot of my beloved patchouli.
• tom ford neroli portofino– if i could make one thing happen in life it would be to seduce tom ford into loving women and making an honest woman out of me. wait, is that two? le sigh- guess i will just have to settle for dousing myself in his crisp delicious fragrance that is the embodiment of a white bikini against turquoise water.
• bobbi brown wasted no time naming her summertime scent beach. one sniff evokes the first day of a late august vacation in cape may, nj. nothing is better than that.
