nyc has made me so super chill.

i mean, wtf? nyc, making a person chill? and by chill i mean, calm/cool/collected not when i’m carrying on like a crazy person at work. “well, that’s a problem.” (dial tone).

with that said, though gotham has mellowed me so, i have still maintained a set of beauty non-negotiables.

• la roche posay melt-in sunscreen (spf 40+) is so light and creamy, i just think of it as another moisturizer, not as my great defender against wrinkles and pre-mature aging.
• elizabeth arden 8-hr cream is home after work, relaxing on the couch, soft-skin indulgence in a single tube. i would go to battle for this stuff.
• tom’s flouride-free peppermint toothpaste- my precious mama was so committed to our bi-annual teeth cleanings, my entire life still revolves around making sure i don’t get in trouble at the dentist’s office. tom’s is just about the best.
• mac lipstick in twig- this color is so creamy and pinky/brown-nude i feel naked without it. don’t believe me? just take the 3 tubes i’ve purchased as gifts since dec as confirmation.
• vitamin e cream- mine is from my favefave beauty spot in memphis, maggie’s pharm but it’s so universally rich and perfect i would trust just about any brand.
• opi’s coney island cotton candy- everyone makes fun of my devotion to nude nails, but no one seems to be poking fun at my chic long-lasting mani. i’ve been wearing coney island since high school.
