it is so soothing to take a moment to consider those things getting us through.
my current things:
- at home manis– i dropped $$ after $$ on pro manicures jan-march. there were rather mif french manicures, a red here and there and some pre-meeting girly pink. for april & may, i’m brushing up on my skills @ home! a few favorites colors: by essie, by olive & june, by OPI.
- she’s running! after a few glasses of wine one night, i stumbled on an email from lululemon announcing their new blissfeel running shoes and said “f it! i love half-drunk shopping.” they are divine and getting me back on the road. i went up a half size and got the precious pink/mint colorway.
- chilled red wine– whether we want to admit it or not, the weight fluctuations past 29 y.o. are not easy. my ancestral roots in white wine run deep and do not help the above issue, so i have flirted with dry spells (unpopular), vodka on the rocks (dangerous) and now red wine with a chill (again, v. unpopular). jennifer fisher is one of my fave lifestyle ladies and swears by it, and apparently i do too!
- new beauty– i was draconian about wearing makeup during most of my nyc life. each day simply requires too much mentally, emotionally and physically to worry about anything else. but after a few years of over-indexing, i am ready to get beautiful again. i will be dedicating a whole post to my non-negotiables but a preview: benefit 24-hr gel, bare minerals lip gloss balm and honest beauty’s hydrogel ( a longtime love but star player!)
ok, gather your own things. they are so important for finding little moments of joy. xx
