one of my favorite summer things is the seemingly endless supply of equal-parts stylish and comfortable footwear. i live for a minimal sandal, brazenly casual flip-flop or just luxe flat. my preferred warm weather styles are unfussy, while still chic and can take me from breakfast by the deep-end to al fresco rose.

summer should be a total departure from should do and a big ol’ belly flop into want to do. my picks:

• within the splurge category, this YSL pair is a flat-out winner. i had to!
• i’m a BIG tkees girl. like flip my shit during their black friday sale girl. great update on the trad flip-flop. however, the gemma in heatwave is my deathbed sandal. if people have deathbed sandals…
• you are not a southerner who went to a preppy school in the midwest, if you don’t own a pair of jack rogers. no longer my go-to, but this Jackie O.-approved staple makes me so nostalgic for a late august weekend in cape may.
• BGE- big giueseppe energy. also, wtf are these on sale/wtf do i need them now?
• nothing says i’m cool but truly dgaf like these glossy big-buckled birks. would wear with this dress and no makeup for a 6 pm bowl of pasta + shared bottle of wine + dessert.
