i was doing a sunday stroll in nashville’s 12South when i stumbled on a gem of a vintage store. amongst the draper james, cowboy boots and cheap-ish clothing boutiques, savant vintage was a breath of (slightly overpriced) fresh air.
it has one of those divine layouts where things go vertically, drawing the eye up towards a collection of vintage overalls, army jackets and lace nightgowns. the prices were a bit out of wack, but that’s the state of modern vintage. i was vowing to make a serious run for the incredibly well-priced finds at EDI’s armstrongs, when my eye landed squarely on a pearl/blue gem beauty in the jewelry case.
possessed, i asked the owner to show it to me ASAP. it was like being in a disney movie— cue the birds, flashes of light and angelic voices. i clasped it to my neck on apr. 30, and have hardly been without it since. my new girl enjoyed a classic nyc jaunt a few days later, joining me for members morning @ the met, egg on rye toast and then a better than great soulcycle class. she fit right in!
it’s a genius way to do the new prep trend without looking like every other girl on LTK (shudder). if nothing else, it also adds some pure fun to any look.
