there are so many occasions for which i flat-out refuse to get dressed up. major holidays, workdays, dinners out, birthday celebrations— just to name a few.

and when i say dressed up, i mean in standard “formal” wear. i will always turn a look, hunny, but as we talked about in scbabt, a slightly off-kilter, ummm what?! kinda look!

but for a basketball game, namely NBA, i will show the f out.

i blame my high school basketball team for winning state 3/4 years i was a student, and having weekly competitions that rivaled march madness. my girls and i would show up for a wednesday evening game decked out in bootcut jeans, “going out tops” and 4-inch heels…to stand in wooden bleachers and shout down the opposing team. perhaps, that helps you understand me a bit more!

fast forward to present day when i wore a floor-length mink coat to a recent grizzlies game. i am the mob wife aesthetic, ok??

in that vain, i live for celeb style at nba games, especially girl groups! one of my all-time faves is 2018 gab union & jessica alba doing a fantastic lakers game strut. they were throwing me back to my MPG** days of high school.

the 2024 version of that iconic image is courtesy of hailey beiber, sarah staud and kendall jenner sitting courtside last month, leaving me gripped with an overwhelming need to recreate this entire vibe.

• channel staud’s energy with the v. good agolde criss-cross leather pants. i bought my pair in a flash at the intermix greenwich (RIP!) in between work meetings, and am always delighted to break them out.
• i watch one bts video from the tory burch fashion show and now all i can think about are these pierced slingbacks! i’m loving kendall’s pointy flats so would play homage to that… if i could ever find a single pair in my size.
• sticking with kj inspo, i am in deep need of some elisa johnson sunglasses. these or these will do!
• hailey’s cardigan is the perfect antidote to all of this cool-girl. cou cou is calling me, mon cher. i love the delicacy of the pointelle in chic inky black.
• in a more subtle ode to the mob wife aesthetic sweeping the internet (this week), i would hit my go-to furrier pologeorgis for this divine patchwork fox fur scarf.
• finally, the most important accessory– a sausage & cheese plate from the legendary rendevzous, extra pickles, extra saltines!
