champagne lovers.

I was perusing one of my favorite home decor + tabletop sites Half Past Seven, when I stumbled on a shopping category called Champagne Lovers.

Ummm, one hundred and fifty percent me?

That got me thinking about the many facets, accessories and occasions for the bubbles. As spring flowers unfurl and the weather finally understands what we need– warmth only!– the opportunities for hosting a champagne-centric gathering are endless! Let’s walk through a few scenarios and some go-to’s.

Apertivo Hour We already know that I am faux Italiana, even more than I am fake Bri’ish! No one does 5 pm like the Italians, so let’s borrow a page from their expert book and plan an apertivo all around sparkling wine and heavy apps. These super adorable star-flecked stemless glasses are begging for a strong pour of a crisp prosecco rose paired with a toasted ravioli bite. Go high-low, y’all! I would do some saucy meatballs with crusty bread and a lemon-doused rocket salad for a night that was not quite dinner, but for sure a ton of fun. My outfit would be Milano di notte in an oversized graphic tee and a teeny tiny Moschino, Versace or MSGM vintage mini with this update to my beloved Ferragamo kittens. Allora!

Girl Dinner This is the moment to go full out for the gals– I’m talking a great bottle of champagne or sparkling wine, a seafood tower, a table set to the nines and PAJAMAS as dress code. I have perfected the girls only dinner party, but have yet to intentionally center it on champagne– the time is nigh! My preferred bubbles with Queen Ina’s roasted shrimp cocktail are a match made in heaven. Plus this giardiniera by the spoonful! The table would be decked out in non-spring red and blue with subtle pops of baby pink. A dream tablecloth with these napkins to match my pjs. How fabulous would it be to have private lighting for each guest? Move over, personal pan pizza!

Poolside The girl dinner was a mere teaser for the main event, champagne by any body of water you can find. We already know how I feel about the days sprawling from May-ish to September-ish, and nothing compliments that blissful time like bottles and bottles and bottles of bubbly. My brother-in-law makes the world’s best at-home lobster rolls, so I would just need him to fly in for this occasion. The rolls would be paired with a flight of crispy potato chips in silver bowls like these. I have recently fallen head over heels for the affordable and delightful taste of cremant, so would source the best bottle under $20 I can get my hands on, and stuff a rattan cooler to the hilt. Obvi, a new bikini would be a must and what the hell– some custom cocktail napkins emblazoned with “Champagne is for Lovers.” I go to Stovall Collection here in Memphis for all of my party paper needs!

Ok, that was FUN and has me so ready to host in the coming months! What themed shindigs are you throwing or looking forward to? Also, who has fabulous sparkling wine or champagne recommendations? Hit the comments Xx
