i recently pulled together a perfect work look that i couldn’t keep it to myself. it involves layers of favorite items, variations on neutrals and some never-fail classic items. harmonius, one might say! yes, i did go there.

first, i am obsessed with this Rails gold cardigan that i idiotically bought during a heatwave in phoenix, but have worn nonstop since. of course, i am wearing as a shirt in this ensemble, but have primly buttoned all the way to the top because ultra-professionalism! find a close-fit cardigan in a great neutral color and be prepared to wear it with everything.

Slvrlake denim in the most perfect, non-transferring black. these jeans are so versatile because they can be worn for work-purposes, but just as easily hang for after hours with a great top (read: crop-top). i beg you to keep an eye out for Slvrlakes on sale- you will thank me sooner than later!

topping off these marquee pieces are a borrowed from the boys (literally) long-sleeved tee that adds a dash of cool masculinity with a slim-fit overcoat that also plays into the dueling gender dynamics. we talk about this all the time, but i love dichotomous looks. life is too short (and fucking chaotic) to play it one-note. the more boyish pieces rough up the dainty cardigan and polished hair/make-up.

the accessories represent the best of the best! my run-into-a-burning-house Ferragamo loafers in the most buttery leather and an out-of-character multi-color Clare V. woven tote that gets compliments on repeat. a good bag and shoes will make pajamas look like a ballgown– which i happen to wear pjs like eveningwear, so i’m all set!

in conclusion, my best workwear in 2024 consists of a great knit or two, perfect denim, well-fitted outerwear, good beauty and even better accessories.
