The most beautiful girl in the world.

I will be the first to admit that I was obsessed with Bridgerton, Season 1. Like gagggged by it!

Not because it was the best television created— no, sorry, that would be Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Wife, ER, and A Different World. Bridgerton was lush and dreamy and escapist, and so fricking romantic! I wasn’t even all that impressed on the first watch, but within a few days, felt myself longing to be back in the ton, frolicking with a delightfully diverse group of gorgeous Brits, and vying to fall head over heels with the right suitor.

My hopes for S2 were sky-high, and one glance at the new leads had me heart-eyed! Two stunning, dark-skinned Indian women leading the romantic storyline. It’s a tale for another time, but I am routinely mistaken for S. Asian. Even when I say “I am Black and from Memphis, TN,” I have been met with “Ok, but what region of India is your family from?” **blank stare

Two to three episodes into the second season, I was so disappointed— not enough Kate and Anthony sexiness, too much Penelope, too few balls, where is my dreamy escape? Though I fast-forwarded through much of the season, I finished not being able to comprehend how insanely captivating Simone Ashley was in every single scene. Her copper skin and dark waves were literally jumping off the screen, and in some ways my brown-toned, fake Indian self felt seen. It wasn’t a typical black-white, white-black pairing and she owned every inch of it.

Since then, I have followed Simone like a hawk and cannot get over how she manages to be stylish and composed, yet wall-melting sexy with every red carpet or street style appearance. The girl rocks a miniskirt like none other, which is the highest praise coming from me. I recently watched a 24 Hours With video she did for Vogue, and was obsessed with her self-awareness and ease in her own skin, and of course deep devotion to her London and Indian heritage!

The London premiere of Bridgerton Season 3 was a Magnum Opus moment as Simone stunned on the red carpet in a blush, lingerie-inspired gown by Milan-based Del Core. You know how I love gli Italiani! The contrast of sheer and opaque and billows of ruffles played perfectly against snatches of chocolate skin, and I love that she led with her best assets— that face and that hair. She walked the carpet emitting Regency Cool Girl with a heavy dose of femininity. I love this look!

Oh, Miss. Sharma, the most beautiful girl in the world! Xx
