I recently put together a very random, but accidentally very good and very, very sexy look for a NYC x Friday night. It rolled into place piece by piece, and me being the Selfie Queen, captured each layered moment.
While my look is the opposite of the Sienna Miller homerun styling in Anatomy of a Scandal, which inspired the title of this post; it is also quite headline-worthy! We love a humble girlie.
First order of business was determining if I was going to adhere to fashion or to function. It was 10-ish degrees in NYC, and I was lacking a real-ish winter coat, so we know which direction I turned.
Enter hand-me-down, vintage black Lanvin!
I had packed this wisp of a ruched minidress with the aspiration of NYC not being a fucking ice tundra. Well, we know which direction that turned, so I had to get creative on the warmth. It is full 1989/hairband rock video girl with random straps everywhere, a flattering sweetheart neckline and a fun asymmetrical hem that is just short enough.
Enter my go-to slim cardigan from Rails + thick-enough black tights.

This is a dress that is quite vavavoom, so can withstand a little corpcore! A full sentence of nonsense, I swear.
Once my hair and make-up were done, I was ready to get out the true winter soldiers– my beloved Armie’s leather (which is very much not up to traditional cold-weather standards), a newly acquired Pologeorgis fox fur mini vest (whoops to the Greenwich sample sale!) and a never-fail cashmere Dior scarf. The key to not contracting whooping cough/pneumonia was strategic layering– scarf first, then the fur, then the leather. I finished with my favorite black lace-up sandals, some new Dorsey jewels and the teeniest, most adorable Ganni leopard shopper from Liberty.
Breezing through my hotel lobby, and then swanning into Beefbar for dinner, I knew I had nailed it! I was Sienna, but more the viral Chloe moment and less the scorned, British politico wife. It was a lesson in persistence, resilience, commitment, and overall suspending weather reality to meet your fashion needs!
Some girlies who inspired my look, and make me want to bust out the whole thing all over again, hopefully in better weather.

- row 1– Jenna Ortega giving great at PFW (Phil Oh); Ms. Chloe being It; a fab Brunello Cucinelli ad expertly balancing proportions
- row 2– This calls for clavicles- just undeniably perfect; Some Really Good KUWTK (Kendall’s sheer long legs informed my entire NYC packing list)
- row 3– Jill Connick is an otherworldly stunner (top inspo for my Anatomy look!); plucked this out of Marie Claire editorial months ago and cannot get over the artistry of the spaces between her bob, neckline and the point of the shoe; who doesn’t love a smiling Meg? (Phil Oh)
- row 4– HRH Morgan Stewart!; another divine PFW look- I adore the updo + red nails + slivers of sheer (Phil Oh); our OG Hot Girl, Halle Berry sitting confidently and always pretty for Marie Claire.
Ok, darlings, what outfit architecture are you scheming right now? Xx
