I was pokin’ around on twitter last night, telling the incredible Tory Burch just how…well, incredible she is, when I discovered this style.com video of the RevaDiva picking the soundtrack for her upcoming presentation.

OH EM GEE, how could I love TB MORE ?

Well, lemme tell you, fantasizing about producing fashion shows is one of my daily daydreams. And coming up with the posh playlist is my favorite aspect of it all. Although I’ve already done the music alla moda thing with November’s l’MTV post, this faux fashion assignment takes Mimi’s creativity to a whole ‘nother level.

I am absolutely obsessed with music…like have to have it on at all times, but I am the antithesis of a tunes’head. My friends call me a grandma, because I’m constantly “discovering” cool, new artists about six years after the rest of the world. Fall 2008 I was obsessed with Amy Winehouse, Spring 2009 Santagold was my new fave. I am currently in ridiculous l.o.v.e. with Mika! Late is great, right ;)

With that said, my runway repertoire is comprised of the oldies along with some “newbies!” Well, H.E.R.E. goes…

1. “Love Hangover”– Diana Ross This song is liquid sex…like gold lame slinkin’ through the air. What better way to start a show? And the uptempo breakdown will have the clothes dancing down the runway all on their own.
2. “Sweet Dream”– Beyonce. If you don’t instantly turn into Bey upon hearing “Turn the lights on…” I feel baaaaad for you!
3. “Bette Davis Eyes”– Kim Carnes This song is a little non-sensical, but a lot sensual. Close your eyes and imagine the strut…
4. “Ghetto Musick”– Outkast While everyone else is bangin’ “Rosa Parks” and “B.O.B.,” Mimi’s luring ’em in with another Stanky beat. Feelin’ good, feelin great…how are you?
5. “Live With Me”– Massive Attack I fell in ♥ with this haunting tune during a sexy…random…artsy pool party
6. “Baby I’m a Star” – Prince When you come up with a fresher, more “who gon check me, boo?” way to end a show, lemme know! Because as His Purple-ness says, “Might not know it now…baby, but I are, I’m a star!”

Well, that’s DJ Meems’ (I had to, deal with it!) style spins for this fantasy, but future fashion show! What’s on your list? Y’all have been awfully quiet on the comments post… so, in the spirit of audio CRANK UP THE VOLUME!
