Food For Chic!

During my lunch break last Friday, I decided to forgo that whole eatin’ bizzz (lunch, schmunch!) and instead peeped the Gucci trunk show at Saks.

Boy, what a wonderful and lo-cal choice!

While Gucci’s Spring collection was pretty top-notch- I mean, it is Gucci!- besides this washed to supple perfection olive-green leather jacket, I wasn’t all that blown away. Gold hardware- great, but totally expected. Safari theme- classic sexy, but read above (tot expected). A few borderline gaudy prints- yea, yea, whatever! I’m over it!

But it was where my trip took me next that made this experience blogg-able. On the third floor I found the modern designers collection. And Lordy me, I hope that’s what the most modern version of heaven looks like.

That little fox Tory Burch caught my eye first. Clean, white sundresses paired with yellow and brown ombre-print cardigans. Boldly printed tunics tempered by denim for a casually-chic, warm-weather look. And Tor-Tor’s spring outwear made me want to slap somebody’s mama…Butter-yellow suede and Cocoa-brown leather. Oooo, now that’s a tasty combo.

But TB was the starter course, simply whetting my couture appetite for the entree-M Missoni. To skim through a mag and see a few Missoni pieces is mere peanuts compared to actually touching these knit gems. That beautiful signature aesthetic in at least ten different color schemes on wrapdresses, cardigans and tunics was almost too much for one lil lunch break. Forget PB&J, I was getting my nourishment from a pair of aquamarine hotpants  and the most precious striped minidress!

After getting a (sample) spritz of my fave Bond No. 9 New York scent- Bryant Park (Whooo! Long Live Fashion Week!), I walked out of Saks as satiated as a lil fashionista could be- totally devoid of any actual food, but full from an afternoon of couture candy :)
