2009 has been quite a toughie for RiRi from the B. My heart literally ached for her after hearing the details of that whole domestic disaster with one C. Brown. What a motherfrickin’ mess!

An avid fan of Rihanna’s offbeat, yet totally on-trend sense of style, I had been planning a post dedication to the pop sensation since the early days of H.E.R.E. Well, we all (kinda) know what happened soon after my wittle baby blog was born- a Grammy’s fiasco a bajillion times more horrifying than the collabo between the JoBros and Stevie Wonder. (Oh, the horror!)

The hip-pop fairytale that we were all rooting for fell apart at the seams. Well, thankfully for the fashion world, RiRi’s wardrobe didn’t follow suit. The Barbadian beauty has been getting her life back in order one fabolous outfit at a time.

Now more than ever, she is the embodiment of H.E.R.E’s most significant rule- “I can do all things through chic which strengthens me.”

Whether jetting to visit friends and family in her native Barbados or zipping from one LA hotspot to another, missy is rockin’ the hottest of couture looks like it’s second nature. I am obsessed with her endless supply of rocker-girl Louboutins, while her lapis-blue Gucci backpack makes me want to beeline towards the nearest classroom.

Mimi_Style? Present and chicly accounted for, professor.

I love how she pairs her fancy fur shrug with a white tank and jeans with total “I’m fly and you’re just not” nonchalance. It’s the perfect meeting of Uptown and Downtown… perhaps even Good Girl Gone Bad ;). I’m even digging the mussy hair and random pops of red lipstick.

Something about RiRi’s look just screams, “All them girls be checking my bags. Why they be bittin’ my swag? I guess you know I’m Bad (Bad)…”

O wait, maybe those are just the lyrics to “Bad Girl.” I knew that sounded familiar.

Well, whatever. Despite relationship woes with these famous lyrics- “What’s love got to do with it…”, Lil Miss Sunshine is holding up her end of the fashion bargain…and all of us stylistas really appreciate it, Ri :)
