OsCouture

In honor of my Lenten promise to not be overly judgmental, I am only blabbing about the Oscar looks that took my breath away. Yep, you read right- there will be no “What the f@$% was ________ thinking?” or “Honeysweetiebaby, NO!”  Well, after last year’s…disastrous results, I am overjoyed to have more than Better Dressed kudos to hand out!

Red Carpet Rundown: LOVE all the different shapes/colors/designers/genres! It seems like the celebs and their stylists dipped their (pinky) toe into the style-risk pool. Though I would love to see even more “walk walk fashion baby” these Oscars dresses are making up for an otherwise D-U-L-L awards season. (Remember the Golden Globezzzzz?)

  • SJP went total Carrie B. in this GORG Chanel Haute Couture. I woulda loved for a lil more slickdown with the hair, but the dress more than obliges. What a stunning style statement.
  • Zoe Kravitz, you KILL me with your perfect skin, just right quirky aesthetic and haute hippie heritage… and this velvet topped gown is salt in the wound…OUCH!
  • First Lanvin’s leopard, now island-inspired Dries Van Noten. You are quite a pretty pretty PRINT-ess, Madame Maggie!

  • Va-va-VERA! Nothing lights up the Red Carpet like Marchesa in ruffled rouge.
  • Only Nicole Ritchie could maintain her distinct style at the most industry event of the year. Love her boho goes glam look in Reem Acra and Judith Leiber.
  • Zoe Saldana you have been Trekk’d and blue&10ft tall, yet this Givenchy is your most out of sight look! With a face that stunning, why not take Red Carpet risks?

And my Oscar’s QUEEN

The one, the only, looking absolutely f$#%’in ToDieFor- Ms. Jennifer Lopez! Photos do not even begin to do this crazy beautiful Armani Privé gown justice. The iridescent baby pink was the perfect compliment to Jen’s honey glow. And I love the subtlety of her simple up-do and slight pops of bling. J.Lo, I have loved you since you were From the Block, Wait(ing) on Tonight and keepin’ it Real. You definitely Have My Love ;)

And of course, there were some lovely ladies whom Mimi adored, but didn’t quite make the elite 7- still stunning, gals!

  2. J.Lo deserves to be in your elite 7! She’s an amazingly beautiful lady already but to add on a stunning Armani gown…WOW! Can you say Supa-Fly?!? :-p
