Hi, HighEnders! While you might be wondering how exactly Father’s Day relates to style and fashion, lemme tell you- there is nothing more chic than the love of a Dad!

I have been so lucky to have Anthony Michael Thompson for the past 23 years- a dad who has handled two rambunctious daughters with the charm and grace of a saint! In honor of the original AMT, I am listing the top ten reason as to why my Dad is the epitome of Daddy Cool.

1. Car troubles=Mimi in hysterics, yet Anthony=cool as a cucumber. AT Sr: “Amelia, is the car still running?” AT Jr: “HOW SHOULD I KNOW??!?!?! I’m not a mechanic! WAAAAHHH!”
2. For not only teaching me how to love thee Notre Dame, but for giving me the opportunity to do so.
3. No other person on the planet would chauffeur me around on the oh-so important mani-pedi days…and hold my purse…and buckle my seatbelt!
4. My sis and I call him Tone Loc. He doesn’t object. End of the story.
5. Thank you Tone Loc for teaching mini Mimi how to rock! What other 3 yr olds were headbangin’ to Billy Idol?
6. For showing me that elevated taste in music (Hendrix, AC/DC, Santana) does not exclude one from enjoying wonderfully ignorant tunes (Crank Dat, My Baby Daddy, Ridin’ Spinners)
7. I’m pretty sure I was born with enough hair for two people, but because my dad called me “his fat-haired baby,” I’ve always thought my thick swarm of hair was gorgeous!
8. Despite having been a vegetarian for the past decade, my dad will still fire up the grill to make his carnivorous daughter a deliciously blackened bratwurst.
9. My mom and I are twins- pretty round faces, J.Crew obsessed, borderline cray cray control freaks. Somehow my Dad survived us for 4 years in the house alone and is still always willing to drive us to J.Crew…while we both backseat drive. Mimi&Mama: “Wait, WHY are you going this way??? We shoulda just…”
10. For epitomizing chivalry and good manners, and for allowing me to be able to spot that characteristic (or a lack of it) from 100 miles away.
