Ok, HighEnders- two MAJOR things just happened to you:

1. Mimi’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! (cricketcricket as every faithful reader has long since dropped me)
2. I have come forward/public/open with my love for The American Dream…and ya know what I mean!

But those two revelations pale in comparison to the styles I’m spittin…didn’t yall misssss me ;)

In response to the heavy (over)saturation of 80s80s80s of 2008/2009, Fall ’10 is kickin’ it a little more casual. And what is more comfy-chic than a basic grey sweatshirt? Yes, you heard Mimi right- a sweatshirt! But I’m not talkin’ that gritty gross thing with the hair-killing hood and dreadful drawstrings. Oh, no ma’am, I haven’t been gone for that long!

Whether slouchy and cool or fitted and femme, the sweat style of 2010 has gotten a super stylish update. Here are a few of Mimi’s faves!

1. I know the Stevie Nicks song is “Leather and Lace,” but this season’s remix is more “Sweater&Lace!” How frickin’ adorable are the lace panels on this Splendid Jersey Pullover. Go all the way femme fatale and pair this lady & the tramp top with a slim leather pencil skirt.
2. This classic style by T by Alexander Wang is the most versatile of the bunch.  I would take it all the way fancy and trick it out with chunky jewels and fur accents. Channel Kate Moss with ciggy pants and rockstar booties!
3. Has this season’s abundance of grey got you feeling…grey? Well, don’t fret, because this L.A.M.B. sweater adds the perfect pop of color! And that whole business in the front, party in the back shape is beyonnnnnd on-trend. Gwenny-Gal, you’ve done it again ;)
4. This macrame-trim sweatshirt by Ecote purrrrrs seductively to my former girlie-girl. That chick just won’t die! Nothing will make this outfit more ModernMimi than a pair of cut-off shorts. Add a lil leopard print to go totally “Sexy Can I!”
5. If you know anything about me, I’m a slaaaave for Ronny Kobo. And this leather-patched sweatshirt has me all Torn up for sure! Wide-leg dark denim will make you the chicest reincarnation of Love Story’s Jenn Cavilleri.
6. Feel like you just can’t swing the sweatshirt look? Toss a cropped style like this Vanessa Bruno version over a stylish maxi dress and voila- Nic Richie chic! Pile on the silver jewels to up the bohemian feel!
